How to Make Iced Coffee from K Cups - It is finally (finally) that time of year when it is warm enough outside to desire some iced coffee. The heat of spring/summer is showing its face to the country and we are in need of some serious refreshment and something to perk us up.
If you have read any of our coffee recipes before, then you should know that we are believers in coffee recipes that are not that complicated and that deliver tasty results. If you have not read our recipes before, well, now you know. We do not like coffee recipes that force you to go out and buy a grocery store worth of ingredients or have to do intense searching for some rare ingredient.
So what is a great recipe for making a wonderfully delicious and elegant iced coffee.
For this recipe, you will need:
- Sugar- this will obviously give the recipe a sweeter taste to help overcome
- A dark roast k cup- you want a dark roast so the coffee flavor will come through even with all the other coffee ingredients. However, if you want a mild roast, medium roast, etc. then you can grab one of those.
- A large mug- go for one that is able to hold at least 16 ounces. Why so much? Well, you will have a nice big glass of iced coffee. It is better to have the larger mug, just in case.
- Ice- I mean, you want this to make it iced coffee. Otherwise, it is just coffee.
- Milk- This will help give the coffee more body and cut some of the intensity of the coffee. If you like a creamier drink, then go for milk with more fat, like whole or two percent; if you would rather have skim, then go for it.
- Add a pinch of sugar to the cup before you even brew the k cup. Brew the smallest available option on your brewer. The newer brewers give you a variety of brewing portions while the older ones give you three or so.
- Brew your single cup coffee into the mug (this is not the same mug you will drink out of so grab just a normal sized mug).
- Fill the larger (16 oz) mug with ice, about ¾ of the way.
- Pour your milk over the ice and stir. Fill it until the milk is equal to the top of the ice.
- Pour the coffee over the milk and ice. If it is too full, then take out some of the ice. Use a spoon, do not burn yourself.
- Stir until it is cold.
- Enjoy.
